Citadel Remote Backup, and its parent Citadel IT Group, are one of only about one percent of companies that survived intact after a catastrophic loss of data. That is a very exclusive club. In fact, if we weren’t a VERY specialized network consulting firm with a core competency in Disaster Recovery, accounting, and datacenter virtualization, we would all be gone and you would not be reading this today. We’d be a statistic, part of the 99% that didn’t make it.

Our Mission then, is to make sure that what happened to us never happens to you. If that makes us the largest, most respected, and most credible remote backup software manufacturer in the world someday, so be it. We’ll have you to thank.
What We Do
With the constant real threat of everything from fires, floods, theft and terrorism, it is surprising businesses manage to keep hold of any data at all. However: To be prepared against surprise is to be well trained.
Our solution is to make business and end users of all stripes well trained against any threat to their data, thus we’re protecting your company your people, your clients and their families.
What We Are Not
Perhaps more so than others, our industry is populated by entrepreneurs as varied as venture capitalist of all sizes looking to turn a fast profit, and home based business opportunists unaware of the challenges and dangers present.
An example of how badly this formula can go wrong is when recently one of our fellow industry leaders had a single storage array fail and lost ALL the data of several thousand customers. There were no other backup of the device, no mirror, no redundancy, no failover, no real protection. Just an effort to make a quick buck at the lowest retail price, unaware of the false sense of security they shared with their clients.
We’re not the cheapest. We’re also not allowing your data to be inadequately protected. We are above and beyond that, having lived through the results of similar catastrophic loss, we are not fools.
What We Are
We are a dedicated team of highly trained software and network support engineers with decades in the industry protecting some of the largest networks, corporations, state governments and federal agencies. The company itself has been ongoing since 1997, and for several years was publicly traded, before a management led buyout. As an IT consulting firm we know what it’s like to be a manufacturer’s partner, we know what it’s like to be a support clients. As a software manufacturer we understand what it means to lead.
What Kind of People are You Buying From?
From day one we decided that no matter what Citadel Remote Backup would be, it would be more than the endless stream of one’s and zero’s that comprise the data we protect. It would be about people, first. It’s about the lives of all the people that data represents.
That data might be wedding photos or birth certificates, a scholarship application or a startup business plan. It might be a child’s first bank account or the medical records of a deceased. In the end it is our combined humanity that we’re protecting, the record that you and I were here for a short while and hopefully made a difference for the better.
Our company, clients, partners and prospects are people. Just like us, some have families, and car payments and mortgages. While everyone has their own problems and obligations, we’ve all committed ourselves here, that if we have anything to do with it, lost data is a headache you definitely won’t have to deal with.
